Climate Risk and Corporate Finance Decisions

Project funded by the Government of Chile (Fondecyt de Iniciación #11220091)
Period: 2022 - 2024
Budget: US$85,000

This project aims to enhance and expand the existing literature on climate finance by investigating the repercussions of drought trends on borrowing costs within mining companies that face constraints on relocation and are susceptible to drought-related risks. Concurrently, I will conduct an in-depth analysis of corporate governance conflicts and incentives. This examination will be centered around how business conglomerates with intricate pyramidal ownership structures in Chile navigate the challenges of addressing climate risks.
